Zenta Birkmanis, 82, died on Aug. 28, 2005 at her home in Port Washington where she resided since 1950. She was a strong woman and she will not be forgotten for she was a friend to many and was always there when someone needed her. She is survived by her husband Laimons; daughter Aija; and grandson Erik. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
