I was recently involved in a serious car accident going south bound on North Plandome Road and Huntington Road. As I waited for the ambulance, police officers, and firefighters to arrive, I began to panic and become very upset and afraid. My parents were far from the area, so I felt alone. Soon enough a crowd surrounded the scene. The people of Port Washington came up to me and comforted me. They hugged me, calmed me down and offered company until the ambulance arrived. The police officers, and firefighters also relaxed me as the paramedics eased my pain. While I was in the ambulance on my way to St. Francis Hospital, I realized how special the people of Port Washington are, and I wished I had such a loving community like this one. It is rare to find a community like this one, and I am grateful for the people of Port Washington and for what they did for me. Although everything seemed to go wrong at the time, I felt the warmth of the community was more like the warmth of a family. Therefore I'd like to thank the fire department, police department and the town of Port Washington. Continue to spread the love and kindness throughout the town. God Bless!
