Marie Ferranti (nee Giresi), 96, of Port Washington, died on May 13, 2005. Marie was a former director of promotions at The New York Times, where she was employed for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and her siblings, James, Antoinette and Frank. Marie is survived by her siblings, Mae, Josephine and Jane and many nieces and nephews. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Peter of Alcantara RC Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery. Gloria G. O'Neill (nee Geraghty), a retired member of the Port Washington Police Dept. and past president of the Carle Place Homemaker's Club, died on June 11, 2005. Gloria is survived by her husband John; her children, Sean (Patricia), Colleen, Eileen and Timothy (Joanne); and her grandchildren, Niamh and Mia. She was preceded in death by her son William. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
Bradley Metnick Zankel passed away on June 17, 2005, after a brave battle against brain cancer. He was 20 years old at the time of his passing. Bradley, a life long resident of Port Washington and a 2002 graduate of Schreiber High School, was a student attending Princeton University. He is survived by his mother, Lori; his father, Jeffrey; his sister, Julie; and his grandparents, Florence and Seymour Metnick and Lucille and Herbert Zankel. A memorial service was held on June 20 at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, Great Neck.
