Update on New Proposed School Budget Following Defeat
The board of education held a special meeting last week to discuss the defeated school budget. BOE President Nancy Cowles told her board that they had three options. One was to go straight to a contingency budget, which would force the district to cut $3,126,752 from the proposed failed budget of $108,813,333.
On the Bay
New information has become available about last week's reporting of the Port Washington YC Day Race. These are volunteers who spent time and offered their boats to make the Day Race a success. Many thanks to Don and Janet Wefer who loaned Fidelity as the Committee Boat, and to the Race Committee: Principal Race Officer Dave DeBaun, Susan DeBaun, Peter and Kathy Christie, Bill and Laura Doyle, Arch Walker, Rosemary Redondo, Gene Brooks and Dan Ross. Without people like these who unselfishly give of their time, the rest of us would not be able to enjoy a summer of bay racing.
