Harborfest Dock Day and Craft Festival Is June 5!
The HarborFest Committee of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will be presenting the 15th annual HarborFest on Sunday, June 5. Kicking off the events will be the HarborFest Fireworks Cruise on Saturday, May 28, aboard the schooner Phoenix. The Rotary Club's Charity Clam Bake will take place under the big HarborFest tent on Friday, June 3 at 7 p.m. On Saturday night, June 4, the schooner Phoenix will take people out on a 3-hour Sunset Sail, boarding at 6 p.m.

Update on New Proposed School Budget Following Defeat
The board of education held a special meeting last week to discuss the defeated school budget. BOE President Nancy Cowles told her board that they had three options. One was to go straight to a contingency budget, which would force the district to cut $3,126,752 from the proposed failed budget of $108,813,333.

On the Bay
New information has become available about last week's reporting of the Port Washington YC Day Race. These are volunteers who spent time and offered their boats to make the Day Race a success. Many thanks to Don and Janet Wefer who loaned Fidelity as the Committee Boat, and to the Race Committee: Principal Race Officer Dave DeBaun, Susan DeBaun, Peter and Kathy Christie, Bill and Laura Doyle, Arch Walker, Rosemary Redondo, Gene Brooks and Dan Ross. Without people like these who unselfishly give of their time, the rest of us would not be able to enjoy a summer of bay racing.
