The girls varsity badminton team finished their regular season's schedule with a perfect record, 12-0. This is now the second consecutive year the team has had an undefeated season and has taken first place in Conference I. "It's a great feeling for the girls to win their conference" said their coach, Andi Uiberall.
"They have a few days to enjoy their accomplishment and then it's back in the gym for practice as we will be competing in the Individual and Nassau County Team Championships, where the competition is very tough." The following girls have received All-Conference recognition: Laila Selim, Kristin Norton, Laura Chen, Katrina Fahey, Lauren Alpert, Alyssa Epstein, Meredith Singleton, Amanda Sall and Jennifer Ardila. At the last home match of the season, the team honored their graduating seniors, Lauren Alpert, a four year player and Jennifer Ardila, a two year player. Lauren and her doubles partner for the past three years, Katrina Fahey won the "Third Doubles Nassau County Championship" last year. This year they are playing first doubles. Lauren is off to Tufts University next year and Jennifer will be attending New York Institute of Technology. Best of luck to our Ladybird Vikings.
