Robert E. McDougald, 75, of Port Washington, died on April 23, 2005. Born in Orange, NJ, he was a graduate of Duke University and a veteran of the Korean War who had a successful career with the NY Telephone Company. He was an avid reader with a keen intellect who had a passion for the New York Times crossword puzzle. His love, guidance and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 50 years; and three children, Bruce, Ellen and Claire; as well as many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington.
