Virginia Ruth Cook Krizek, beloved mother and grandmother, 88, of Swarthmore, PA, formerly of Hadley House, Port Washington, died on March 24, 2005 at Wallingford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wallingford, PA. Born July 2, 1916 in, Bismark, ND, and raised in Great Falls, MT, Virginia had been a longtime resident of Port Washington where she was a member of the Music Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution North Riding Chapter before moving to Swarthmore two and a half years ago. She held a bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and a master's degree from Columbia University Teachers College. She retired from working in 2001. Her last job was with the Port Washington Public Library. Virginia worked most of her life for the family business, Krimat, Inc., and before that New York Public Library and Bigelow Sanford. She is survived by her children, Edwin John Krizek and Katherine Ruth Krizek; and her grandchildren, Daniel Tomas Bordi and Emma Lucy Bordi. Virginia was a source of love, hope and inspiration to all who knew her. Her remains will be cremated and the ashes scattered in Glacier National Park, MT, one of her favorite places from her youth. There is no memorial service planned, nor is the family soliciting gifts or donations for charity. What we do ask is that you treasure any happy memories you have of Virginia. Her courage, hope and love sustain us. Interested parties should contact Ed Krizek 610-328-7993.
