The K-Kids Club at Manorhaven School sponsored a drive to raise money for the victims of tsunami. During their weekly meetings, fliers were designed by the students, sent home with each child and distributed to all staff members.
The club members made bracelets and sold them at Manorhaven's annual Bingo night. During lunch hours, they also collected money from students and staff. Watching the children drop their coins and bills into the can was truly heartwarming.
Manorhaven students emptied their piggy banks and contributed their own savings. Also, parents and staff were most generous.
As a result, Manorhaven School collected $4,000 for the tsunami relief efforts sponsored by UNICEF. As sponsor of the K-Kids Club, UNICEF wants to applaud the students, families and staff of Manorhaven school and thank them for making this project a success. This is a fine example of the community spirit present at Manorhaven School.
