On behalf of the Port Washington Fire department and the family of little Ashley Cosola, may I express our sincere thanks and eternal gratitude for the wonderful success of the Ashley Fund Dinner and Chinese Auction of November sixth.

The response of our community neighbors, the other Nassau County fire departments of the Eighth Battalion, and the Port Washington businesses and organizations (who donated all those valuable prizes that went to the highest bidders and the raffle), was overwhelming.

The fund finances raised, all of which goes to aid the Cosolas in the medical expenses for Ashley's care, exceeded all expectations.

My thanks to our fire department members, all of whom paid full admission price to attend and then served happily all night at the many required jobs to make events run smoothly.

It was a grand night of fun, excellent food, companionship and neighborly good feeling...and no one seemed to enjoy it more than Ashley, herself, the star of the evening!

And now, most importantly, may all this, along with our prayers, help to result in a long and healthy life for Ashley.
