On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Election day, the 3,000 plus voters who turned out to cast their ballots at the United Methodist Church at 1515 Middle Neck Road in Port Washington were given an extra treat. Free refreshments in the form of coffee, tea, donuts and a huge assortment of homebaked cookies and cakes were available all day long - from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Also available were candy and even jelly apples for the young and not-so-young to enjoy while waiting to cast their vote. All goodies were provided gratis. Our thanks go to Jean Care and the United Methodist women.
