The popular Black Tie Liquor store in Manorhaven is undergoing a major expansion. The size of the store will be tripled. "Our goal," said Howard Marshall, spokesman for Black Tie, "is to offer a much larger selection of wine and spirits at significantly better discounts." Already specializing in hard-to-find wines from some of the fine boutique wineries around the world, the new store will expand the selection with wines from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Austria, France, California, Italy, Spain and many other regions. The selection will include vintage ports and dessert wines. Marshall said, "The staff takes great pride in constantly searching for wines from the best vintage years." One regular customer confirmed this, saying, "They really know their stock and my tastes. I've never been disappointed in one of their recommendations."
Black Tie will also be expanding their selection of spirits, including single malt scotches, luxury vodkas and tequilas. The store offers custom gift baskets, and welcomes all customers, from novice to connoisseur. "We intend to create a one-stop liquor store designed to satisfy all types of customer needs," said Marshall.
The original store, which will be used for storage when the new, expanded store opens, continues in operation during construction. Located at the northwest corner of Shore Road and Manhasset Avenue (across from the Soundview shopping center), Black Tie Liquors is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday until 9 p.m. There are wine tastings on Saturdays from 3 until 7:30, and free delivery is available. Special discounts are offered to commercial customers.
Black Tie, which has been in business in Port Washington for 10 years, expects that the new store will be open in a few months. "We want to thank our loyal customers who made our success possible," said Marshall. "Look for our gala grand opening where we will offer delicious food and wine."
