Doris J. Hooper (nee Rome), 79, of Port Washington, died on Sept. 12, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry; her children, Patricia Schumacher (Peter), Evelyn Garofalo (Thomas), Joanne Panetta (Steven) and Lorna Downey (Steven); her grandchildren, Nora, Georgia, Margaret, Katharine, Kristel Santos (Fernando), Danny and Brian; her great-grandchild Dylan. Doris is also survived by her sister, Joan; nieces, nephews and her sister-in-law Margaret. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. A religious service was held at the funeral home Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery. Elizabeth M. Zlamal, of Port Washington, died on Sept. 12, 2004. Wife of Joseph. Mother of Kathleen (Ronald) Marra and Anthony Zlamal. Grandmother of Mari and Ronna Marra. Sister of Charles Contino, Christopher Contino, Mildred Mari, Robert Contino, Joseph Contino and the late Anthony Contino and the late Mildred Contino. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral Mass at St. Peter of Alcantara RC Church. Interment private.
