Constance Richardson Williams, affectionately known as Toady, passed away on Aug. 14 at the age of 91. Born in Brooklyn, she was a life long resident of both Port Washington and Shelter Island, NY, where she was very involved in both communities.
After a career in Hollywood, she had a very successful career in real estate for over 50 years. A devoted mother, grandmother, friend and colleague, she will be sadly missed.
Loving wife of the late Norman R. Williams Jr. Also survived by her daughter Linda Williams Strahm; her son Michael Williams; her granddaughters, Ginny, Connie and Peggy; and great-grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Melissa, Ashely, Tiffany and Taylor.
A small graveside service was held on Aug. 20 at Our Lady of the Isle Cemetery in Shelter Island by Father Vincent Youngberg, a long time friend. A memorial will be held in her honor on Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington. Stoyanka Kresic (nee Krajnovie), 69, of Port Washington, died on Aug. 14, 2004. Wife of Miro. Mother of Vesna Haymon (Lee) and Stephen. Grandmother of Tara. Sister of Stana and the late Milos. Dr. Kresic's service was held at the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
E. Joan McGauley, 92, of Plantation, FL, formerly a Port Washington resident, died on Aug. 15, 2004. She is survived by her husband Patrick and her children: Pegasis McGauley of Nelson, BC, Canada, Kathy Wallace (Bob) of Plantation and Rick McGauley (Pam) of Longmeadow, MA. She also leaves her six grandchildren: Revi, Sean, Amy, Sharon, Louise and Todd.
Joan was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1912. She was a schoolteacher in a one room schoolhouse in Christian Valley, BC. After her marriage, she lived in the New York area for many years. Joan was very active in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She served on the Altar Guild and also spent many weeks quilting for the annual fair. She and Pat retired to Florida in 1983 and had many happy years there. A memorial service was held on Aug. 21 in Plantation.
