Born on Jan. 7, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN, Judy lived much of her young life traveling with her musician father William Harrington and mother, Dorothy. In 1974 she moved to Port Washington where she lived until this past March, when she moved to Hadley House on Main St. She was an active member of the Port Washington community, working for some years at the Port Washington Public Library. Judy was also a very active member of the North Shore Unitarian Society, now called the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock. She also enjoyed her consulting work as a career counselor in many Long Island communities. She is survived by daughter Nickie Albert; son Chris Albert; daughter-in-law Lisa; and granddaughter Hannah; mother Dorothy Harrington; brother Tom Harrington; and sister Rerry Romeii. She was a lover of animals and close to her heart were Jesse (poodle) and Keisha (Shih Tzu). A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock on July 10 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (information can be found a www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org) or to the local humane society.
Paul L. Merritt, 74, of Port Washington, died on June 20, 2004. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Margaret and his daughter Mary Louise. He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Downey and Patricia and his granddaughters Alison and Erin. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Religious service at the funeral home. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
