Christopher Shields, Port's Own, Named South Salem School Principal
Individuals who feel especially thankful to an institution or program usually try to express their gratitude through volunteer activities or donations. When it comes to Christopher Shields, he's made it his career. Growing up in Port Washington and attending its public schools, he felt prepared him exceptionally well for the future. Now, this appreciative educator will happily become principal of the South Salem Elementary School this fall. "To come back [to Port], and make a contribution is very rewarding," he said.

"It was a year of firsts" for Schreiber's girls varsity badminton team, said their coach, Andi Uiberall. "I've been coaching for seven years and even before that it has never been done."

WORC Golf Outing Raises $105,000
Under mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s, the 17th Annual WORC Geraldo Rivera Golf and Tennis Classic was recently held at the Village Club at Sands Point. The outing featured an 18-hole golf competition, a round robin tennis tournament, sports and entertainment auctions and awards.

On The Bay
This past weekend was not the best one for enjoying our beautiful waterfront as the weather was unusually cold and much of the weekend was rainy. But sailors, being who they are, didn't let a little foul weather stop them, and weekend racing continued as usual. Results for last weekend and the Memorial Day weekend follow. Results for Saturday, June 5, where ten Sonars were on the starting line for four races.
