The Schreiber High School Boys Track Team competed in its second Division meet at Massapequa High School after two meets had to be cancelled. Four teams competed and Port placed second, holding on to beat Syosset and Plainview. Syosset was the third best team in the county last year, so this proves to be a big win for Port. The top performers of the day were: Sam Rappaport who won the high jump, Matt Wolf won the 110 high hurdles, Andrew Cuthill scored in the long and triple jumps, Adam Davis scored in the mile (4:48 - a personal best), 800-meter and 3200-meter. Pasquale Petruziello scored in both hurdling events. The win was secured when Joe Riley passed a Plainview runner in the final stretch of the last relay, the 4 x 800.
For the next meet, the coaches selected eight long distance runners to compete in the Nassau Coaches Invitational held at Franklin Carey High School, where every high school sent competitors. Each Schreiber runner competed in the mile event. Senior Adam Davis ran in the varsity and placed fifth out of over 80 runners, receiving a medal. The top eight runners received medals. Peter Gabrielli placed sixth in the freshmen race and also received a medal.
