Elizabeth Susan Weinberg, 56, of Louisville, KY, died on April 15, 2004 at Audubon Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit. A 1965 graduate of Schreiber High School, Beth was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family. Her favorite way to spend a day was walking in a park and sharing time with those she loved. Her compassion and love for her family and friends was endless.
Beth was born on June 15, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late James and Helen Ferguson. She spent her childhood in Port Washington and in 1969 graduated summa cum laude from Baldwin Wallace College. She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 21 years and also a long time volunteer at St. Matthews Elementary and Waggener High School. She was named JCPS volunteer of the year in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her father James Ferguson. Beth is survived by her husband, William, of 35 years of marriage, a 1964 graduate of Schreiber High School; a daughter, Lynn (Bret) Riegel of Springfield, MO; a son, Bobby Weinberg of Columbus, OH; mother Helen Ferguson of Ocean City, NJ; a brother James (Carol) Ferguson of Ocean City; special niece and nephew Grace and Tom Ferguson and the light of her life, her two grandchildren, Ella and Bennett Riegel.
Her service was held on April 19 at St. Matthews Episcopal Church. Burial private. Arrangements were made by the Pearson Funeral Home, Louisville. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Matthews Episcopal Church Children's Program, 330 Hubbards Ln., Louisville, KY 40207.
