Arthur R. Lampus, born and raised in Port Washington, died on March 21, 2004 at the age of 84. He was staff sergeant in the Army during WWII. Arthur is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Ann Stranahan (James), Claire Collins (George), Arthur Jr., Jane Spriegel (Robert) and Thomas (Elizabeth); and his grandchildren, David, Richard, Andrew, Kasey and Chelsea. He is also survived by sisters, Esther Kelly and Katherine Fletcher. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Interment Calverton National Cemetery.
