Stop & Shop Presents Waterfront Parcel to the Village
On the eve of the opening of the Stop & Shop on Shore Road in Port Washington the supermarket company is presenting to the Village of Port Washington North waterfront property valued in excess of $1 million as part of its overall development project. Stop & Shop also provided a $100,000 check to Village officials for use in the ongoing betterment of the community.

Mini Bond for Schools Defeated by Wide Margin
Last week, taxpayers spoke loud and clear against the escalating taxes, which present quite a burden to many residents and business owners. On a snowy day with a travel advisory, property owners came out to vote down the mini-bond referendum to repair some of the buildings in the school district, especially the roofs.

Weber's Wrestling Blue Team
The Weber Boys Wrestling Team had a successful Winter 2004 season defeating many tough opponents such as Wheatly, Friends Academy, Carle Place, Glen Cove and Thompson. The team was led by co-captain, John Froccaro, undefeated at 8-0, Dan Sirotkin, 7-1, Steven Kaufman, 5-0, Sam Pyo, 7-2, Jon Certuche, 7-2 and Drew Regan, 6-3. The newest members on the team were the seventh-graders with impressive performances, these include: Greg Lumpkin (5-1), Kyle Lewis (4-3), Joahn Steadman (7-1), Jess Block (6-3), Timmy Pond (8-2), Jeff Froccaro (9-1) and Doug Bosswick (4-3).

On The Bay
Even though spring began last Saturday, there was no frostbiting last Sunday, March 21st, because the wind was gusting to 25-30 knots, there were whitecaps on Manhasset Bay, and it was just too dangerous for the little dinghies to be out on the water. But if conditions had been a little calmer, what a day it would have been for sailing! Let's hope next Sunday provides us with weather conducive to sailing - after all it is spring.
