Katherine (Kathy, Kate) C. Nofi, 55 of Albany, died Feb. 19, 2004 at Palmyra Medical Centers of a heart attack and other medical complications. A native of Port Washington, Kathy had resided in Albany since 1979 moving there from Orlando, FL. She retired after 25 years as a legal secretary and attended Christ United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Albany Legal Secretaries Association, the Orlando Juvenile Diabetes Association and was a graduate of Paul D. Schrieber High School in Port Washington.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Nofi of Albany; a daughter Denise Marie (Ronald Ray Poole) of Albany; three grandchildren, Brandon Poole, Samantha Rose Poole and Emily Brooke Poole of Albany; her mother, Barbara R. Douglas of North River, NY; three sisters, Ann O'Connor of Poughquag, NY, Janet Duell of Brant Lake, NY, and Kimberly Klippel of Elkhart, IN. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Anthony "Eddie" Nofi.

The service was conducted at the Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Buford "Beau" Taylor officiating. Interment Leesburg Cemetery. The family would appreciate contributions be made to Dougherty County Sheriff's Youth Division, c/o Captain Sproul, PO Box 1827, Albany, GA 31702.

Gertrude Jastrzebski (nee Ketzlick), 77, of Port Washington, died on Feb. 23, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Sigmund; and her children, Ken (Jean) and Patricia Irving (Philip). Gertrude is also survived by six grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Francis Hospital, 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, NY 11576. Josephine M. DiLeo (nee Marro), 86, of Port Washington, died on Feb. 24, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam. She is survived by her daughter, Diane; her sister, Evelyn Yonelunas, nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
