The start of the New Year has brought with it the inauguration of a new system of governance in the Town of North Hempstead. Council districts have replaced the old at-large system resulting in a more directly representational Town Board. While this change is to the benefit of all town residents, it also means that I will no longer serve as the Town Board liaison to the Port Washington area.
I have been privileged over the past few years to work with you as a friend and neighbor to address many of the issues affecting our quality of life throughout Port Washington. Happily I will continue to serve the people of the Town of North Hempstead as the councilman from the fourth district, representing Port Washington's neighbors to the south - in Roslyn, Manhasset and Great Neck. My friend and colleague Councilman Fred Pollack now has the honor of representing you on the Town Board.
Nonetheless, I want you to know that my door, now as before, will always be open to you, as many of the issues that affect the Port Washington peninsula have important implications throughout the Town of North Hempstead. Working with Fred, I look forward to continuing our work to improve the quality of life for Port Washington and for all the residents of North Hempstead.
Thank you again for your friendship and support. Have a happy and healthy New Year!
