Honorees: PWCC's past presidents.
|
The Port Washington Children's Center celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Village Club of Sands Point. Nineteen past presidents of the Port Washington Children's Center (PWCC) were honored at the event, which was co-chaired by Kathy Zankel, Mady Caslow and Doris Novick. Their committees worked tirelessly to ensure an elegant and festive evening, including a delicious buffet dinner, delightful music, and a silent auction, offering prizes from various local restaurants and shops, vacations and other services. State Assemblyman Tom DiNapoli and Nassau County Legislator Craig Johnson presented special citations to each of the honorees, as well as to the Center. Current co-presidents, Lloyd Herman and Judy Cutaia accepted the citations on behalf of the Children's Center.
An anniversary journal provided family friends and guests the opportunity to honor the past presidents. Honorees included the first PWCC board president Howard Blankman, plus Susan Bagnini, Ginny Cook, Barbara Goldstein, Christine Kiernan, Toby Koren, Arlene Labenson, Faustina Lees, Pat Latzman, Andy London, Bob McGuire, Roberta McNeill, Barbara Miller, Claudia Rouhana, Sally Scott, Anne Shkuda, Pamela Tarica, Nancy Ulrich and Kathy Zankel.
The center has been providing quality day care to the Port Washington community since 1977. An integral part of the Landmark on Main Street complex, it serves over 150 children with programs for toddlers starting at 18 months, 3 and 4-year-old preschoolers, as well as KidsPort, a before and after school program for grades K-6. For information regarding the programs, contact PWCC's director Marlene Selig at 883-4864.
