Susan Giobbe Dull, of Port Washington, died on Oct. 21, 2003, at the age of 93. She taught piano to generations of Port Washington children forming lifelong friendships. Together with her sister, Connie, she followed in her father's footsteps involved in the world of music both locally and in Manhattan. Her beloved husband, Charles, and more recently her sister, Connie Mensch, predeceased her. Susan is survived by her brother-in-law Homer Mensch, cousins Luis, and Lena Giobbe, Gloria Ficolara and many close neighbors and friends. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter of Alcantara RC Church. Interment Mount St. Mary's Cemetery.
Anne Rogers McGuire, 82, of Hilltop Road, Port Washington, died peacefully in her home on November 10th.She was the daughter of Elizabeth O'Connell of County Kerry and Joseph Rogers of County Clare, Ireland. Born in Brooklyn in 1921, Anne was raised in Woodside, Queens with her siblings Joe, Mary, and Jack. A graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens, Anne was an executive secretary for Schenley Inc. of Manhattan prior to her marriage. Anne was a resident of Port Washington, a town she dearly loved, since 1959.
A member of St. Peter of Alcantara parish, Anne was an active member of the Women's Guild and taught in the Religious Education Department for many years.
Anne was a homemaker, par excellence with a real flair for interior decorating and design. She was a fabulous cook. A woman of deep faith and marvelous sense of humor, Anne had a keen interest in every person she met.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, retired Marine Corp Major, William J. McGuire, a daughter, Valerie A. McGuire of Fairfield, CT, a son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Lynn of Tallahassee, FL, and her devoted brother Jack, of Whitestone, Queens.
She was known, loved, and respected as "nanny" by her five adored grandchildren: Kathryn M. Keith and Christopher J. Dinolfo of Washington D.C., Janna E.M. Dinolfo of Martha's Vineyard, and Christopher and Michael McGuire of Tallahassee, FL.
Anne is also survived by her grandson-in-law, Ryan Keith, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on November 13th at St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington, NY.
