Port Blvd. to Receive a Facelift
The major shopping center area of Port Washington Boulevard from Eckerd Drugs at 961 Port Washington Blvd. north to the corner of Main Street has been purchased by Musso Properties of Great Neck, which has been the managing agent for the center for the past several years. The property has considerable parking, estimated at approximately 300 spaces, and is currently occupied by 18 business tenants. It was originally built in 1949 on farm property belonging to the Monfort family and is commonly called the Monfort Property.

Sean Corriel Is a Finalist in WTC Memorial Competition
Last week Port Washington was abuzz with the news that a local young man, Sean Corriel, is part of a team whose design was chosen as one of the eight final ones for the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition. The finalists were picked from 5,201 submissions from 49 states and 63 countries. A 13-member jury selected the proposals and will choose the winning design at the end of this year.

Sisters Selected for the 2003 USA Pan-American Maccabi Soccer Team
During the Christmas holiday break, Schreiber junior Halsey Diakow and her ninth-grade sister Emlyn will be traveling to Santiago, Chile as members of the girls soccer team representing the United States in the Pan American Maccabi Games. The games, held every four years, are a world class event which brings athletes from around the world together for an Olympic style and sanctioned competition.

Weber Spartans Football Team Have Stellar Season
The Weber Spartans seventh grade football team recently concluded a stellar season and ended with a 7-2 overall record. Coach Cane led his players into games and had them well prepared to line up against many teams stacked with eighth-graders.
