It was lacrosse weekend in Port and despite the early hour and the gray skies coaches Jeff and John Froccaro said their sixth-grade team is "ready and eager to faceoff against their fierce competitor, Manhasset." Port got off to an early rally when Doug Bosswick quickly scored the first goal aided by the great defensive efforts of Timmy Pond, Nick Canjemi and Perry Dube. Minutes later, Aaron Lee, assisted by Doug Bosswick, blasted in a goal to give Port an early two-goal lead. Port's defense kept up the pressure. Michael Brown, Isaiah Ayendy and Chris Wands were all over the field keeping Manhasset at bay. Jeff Froccaro was taking advantage of his team's great defensive efforts by winning the faceoff and barreling down the field to score the third goal of the game ending the first quarter in a 3-0 lead.
