I wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank Kevin Hickson for his letter to the editor of the Port Washington News, in connection with the alleged discrimination by Blockbuster. I sincerely appreciate his support of employees with disabilities, as well as the support I have always received from the Port Washington community. As an employee of Blockbuster who resides in Port Washington, I have derived much gratification and personal satisfaction from serving the friendly customers of my hometown.

In particular I wish to express my utmost appreciation to Nassau County Legislator Craig Johnson (D-Port Washington), who took such a personal and professional interest in my case. He and his law firm, Reisman, Peirez & Reisman, L.L.P. worked diligently to get this matter resolved. The issue in this case was never about money but, more importantly, protection of the rights of individuals with disabilities.

Lastly, I wish to thank my parents, Toni and Joanne and my brother, Joe, for standing by me. Their endless and untiring support in these trying times was a blessing for which I will always be grateful.

Nicholas J. Reichmann
