Nicholas B. Solomita, 79, of Port Washington, died on Feb. 24, 2003. Nicholas is survived by his wife Mary; his children, Jo-Ann (Charles) and Anthony; and his grandchildren, Lauren and Steven. He is also survived by two sisters and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment private. Shirley Sandbichler, 54, died on Feb. 26, 2003. She is survived by her mother Frances Eaton Sarro; her sons Kenneth and Gregory (Constance); and her siblings, Nancy (Douglas) Kretsch, Lorraine (Joseph) Bauer, Theodore (Cindy), Edith (Robert) Cuomo, Robert (Lucille) Eaton and Barbara (Oliver) Angevine. Shirley is also survived by her goddaughters Ginny Yee Kee and Karin Kretsch and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Religious service at the United Methodist Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
