In what the most competitive and exciting game of the early season, St. Peter's fifth grade boys BBB Division, prevailed again to go 3-0. The team's sheer determination and heart was the key to this win.

The first quarter St. Peter's jumped out to a 12-7 lead with Adam Epstein scoring 4, Shaan Shivdasani 4, Logan Schiff 2 and Dave Marx 2.

In the second period SP was held scoreless, while Our Lady of Victory hit two field goals, making the half time score 12-11 in SP's favor.

Each team scored eight points in the third quarter. Adam Epstein contributed five free throws while Kyle Featherston hit one field goal along with one foul shot. Shaan Shivdasani added another bucket.

The fourth quarter was nail biting time. A key basket by Max Segal and two free throws by Kyle Featherston kept SP in the game. With less than one minute left, score tied at 26-26, Epstein gets fouled while in the act of shooting, misses both free throws but manages to get his own rebound, getting fouled again. This time he converts free throws to take a 28-26 lead with 11 seconds remaining. SP's defense was up to the task, forcing Our Lady of Victory one last shot from 20 feet out. The shot caromed off the rim and Logan Schiff came down with the final rebound to ensure the win.

This exciting win could not have been possible without the great rebounding ability of Josh Potter, the timely steals by Danny Levinson, the tough one-on-one defense of Robby Levinger and the all around play of Lewis Calem and Patrick McCulloh. Logo
