On Sunday Oct. 20, the Junior Football league with players from Port Washington and Manhasset played its third games. In the first period, Oklahoma in Red sponsored by Manhasset Community Chest defeated Notre Dame in Green sponsored by Greenpoint Savings Bank by the score of 27-12. Ahmad Reed ran 12 yards for a touchdown for the Green in the first period. This was countered in the second period on an 8-yard by Will Himler for the Red with Cody White running for the point after touchdown. Ahmad Reed ran 50 yards for a touchdown in the second period and the point after touchdown was missed. In the third period Will Himler ran 56-yards for a touchdown and Frank Morelli made the point after touchdown. The Red recovered a fumble and Cody White ran 4 yards for the touchdown for the Red and Ben Gonzalez made the point after touchdown. In the final period Cody White threw a pass to Ethan Sander for a touchdown. The point after was stopped. Playing well for the Red team were the Manoogian brothers, Chris and Matt and Nick Siconofi. For the Green, Spencer Maslow made a number of tackles as did Michael Wysota, Alexander Ardito and Chris Katzman.
In the second game Iowa in Black sponsored by Port Washington PBA defeated UCLA in Blue sponsored by Miracle-Gro 19-0. The Black started off in the first period on a touchdown by Matt Wood. In the second period Chris Cook ran for a touchdown and Drew Belinsky made the point after. In the fourth period Drew belinsky ran 37 yards for a touchdown. On defense for the Black, Jason Sirotkin, Dary Schwartz, Zach Gunzberg and Jason Gurewitz played well. For the Blue, Andrew Kapper, Evan Molloy, Kyle Manzione, Jerry Lange, Kevin Coleman and Jamie Scharf played well.
In the last game, Penn State in White sponsored by Port Washington Tennis Academy defeated Florida in Orange sponsored by Manhasset Sports Shop by the score of 14-7. Jonathan Keren plunged 4 yards for a touchdown for the White and Daniel Marici made the point after. After a number of long runs by Jason DeSimone, Tony Froccaro plunged 5 yards on a quarterback sneak for the touchdown in the fourth period after runs by Jimmy Bitter to score on a 43-yard run by Tom Botsaris. The point after touchdown was a completed pass from Botsaris to Bitter. For the Orange Lou Monarchio, Robby Levinger, Harry Klein and Dan Gorman played well. For the White Froccaro recovered a fumble and Blaise Stoddard, Matt Mauser and Gregory Smaldone had good games.
