Top Talent Slated for Landmark Theater
Last year, while chronicling the growing presence on the L.I. arts scene of Port Washington's Landmark on Main Street, I branded the theatre there the "new kid on the arts block." This year, it looks as though that kid is growing up.

Louie's Restaurant Transformed But Still Familiar
Louie's Restaurant - renamed Louie's Oyster Bar and Grill - is well on its way to becoming one of the area's premier restaurants. This long-running Port Washington eatery adjacent to the town dock on lower Main Street, with its spectacular view of the harbor, is undergoing a complete transformation. Although the extensive renovations are only about half done, the changes are striking.

On The Bay
SOS INC. of Fruitland, ID, the manufacturer of Sospenders branded inflatable pfd's is voluntarily recalling approximately 7,200 automatic inflatable personal flotation devices (PFD). Approximately 300 defective Hammar units in one lot of 500 were loaded incorrectly and will not inflate the vest. This recall impacts all PFD's sold under the Millennium product label, as well as the Hammar rearm kits. SOS INC. has made the decision to recall all Hammar products for 100% safety inspection. These units were sold to consumers by West Marine between March 2002 and August 2002.

PYA Offers New Sports Programs for the Fall
PYA is happy to announce an expanded sports program for this fall. We will be adding some new baseball programs while continuing others that have been in place for years. The successful renovation of the "new" Lion's Field has enabled us to provide additional activities for the children of Port Washington. Applications will be sent home from your elementary schools during the first week of classes. They are also available at Arena Sports and Jimmy's Shoes.
