On Saturday morning, June 8, my family held the funeral services for my father, Thomas, a 37-year resident of Port Washington. Dad always loved Port Washington and consistently claimed that purchasing a home here was the best decision he had ever made. Anticipating a large crowd at his funeral, I contacted Detective Jeff Morris of the Port Washington Police for traffic assistance in front of St. Peter's and through town. He was more than obliging, and also offered to contact the Nassau County Police to seek their assistance as the funeral procession made its way to Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.
With nearly 100 vehicles in the funeral motorcade, the assistance was definitely needed and was delivered flawlessly by the Port Washington and Nassau County Police Departments.
Thank you for making a very difficult day a little easier and safer for all of us.
