The Vipers (boys U12) defeated the Freeport Arsenal team in a thrilling 3-2 game. The Vipers opened the scoring in the first half on a well-struck goal by Brent Gillespie. After Freeport tied the score, the Vipers were awarded a penalty kick which was blasted in by Ignacio Del Valle for a 2-1 halftime lead. Freeport converted a penalty kick awarded midway through the second half to tie the score. .This set the stage for the game winner scored by Harry Roberts who battled through several Freeport defenders before scoring the goal with five minutes to go in the game. The victorious Vipers were also led by Victor Martinez's tenacious defense and the solid goalkeeping of Nick Balterman.
The Xtreme (boys U10) overpowered Levittown by 8-0. With only two subsitutes, everyone contributed to the win. Kyle Johnson had an outstanding day with a hat-trick. Andrew Keen, Jesse Myers, Andrew Vasquez, Jonathan Commisso and Liam Neville also pumped in goals. In goal, Peter Maxted and Jonathan Commisso held Levittown scoreless to obtain the shutout. Helping secure the shutout, Chris Huezo, Ross Balaban, Andrew Keen and Andrew Vasquez denied Levittown many scoring chances and Taylor Kemper roamed the midfield.
In intramural action, the Wizards and Burn faced off again in a very exciting game which included a number of shots off the post. For the Wizards, Bobby Eilbacher had a hat-trick. For the Burn, Harrison Slutsky had a hat-trick. Austin Kemper showed great hustle and blocked a shot which had gotten by the Wizards' goalie Will Kerwick. Dylan Neville, Craig Llewellyn and Chris Sreckovich kept the pressure on the Burn's goalie.
The Hurricanes (boys U12) won their fourth straight shutout by defeating Rockville Centre 1-0. Matt Weintraub recorded his second shutout and P.J. Wezenaar scored the lone goal in a tough, physical game. The Hurricanes, after a slow start, are now 4-2-1.
