At the risk of being stoned for heresy, I believe it is time for all of the areas of what is known under the Port Washington School District banner to unite under the umbrella structure of one Port Washington government.

Decisions made in Baxter Estates, for example, regarding the pond or the library or Shields surrounding areas; decisions made in Port Washington North about housing facilities or supermarkets; decisions made in Sands Point about ingress and egress from Middle Neck Road; all of these decisions affect not only the populace of those individual villages, but the good and welfare of all of the residents - present and future - of greater Port Washington.

It is time, in my opinion, to consider the disbanding of all of our local village governments and to examine the creation of one all-inclusive Port Washington governmental structure.
