The Little Neck Bay Sail and Power Squadron is offering a Boating Course (Boat Smart) Tuesday evenings beginning March 12 at 8 p.m. at the Sousa School in Port Washington. The five-session course covers boat handling, anchoring, marlinspike, seamanship, federal and state regulations, trailing, aids to navigation, navigation rules and much more. There is no charge for instruction. The only fee is for course material and school registration which is $40.

Boat Smart satisfies the New York State educational requirements for young boaters (10 to18) and Personal Watercraft (PWC) operators.

This course is recommended for anyone who owns a boat, is planning to buy one or just enjoys boating. Many insurance companies offer discounts to boat owners who complete this course.
