The Board of Police District Commissioners recently presented awards of recognition to employees of the PWPD who assisted with rescue and relief efforts in New York City since Sept. 11. Police district employees assisted in many aspects of the rescue efforts including search and rescue, patrol duties, security details as well as collecting and delivering rescue supplies into Ground Zero.

Commissioner Duncan, along with Commissioner Zimbardi and Commissioner Persons, presented the awards to 19 police district employees. Numerous other employees will be honored at future police commissioners meetings.
