Lawrence Harold Simpson, of Bear River, Nova Scotia, died on Dec. 15, 2001, of Alzheimer's. He was predeceased by his wife Jane two years ago. Larry was born in Nova Scotia and raised in Port Washington from the age of 2. He had a successful building business in Port for many years. In 1966 he returned to Nova Scotia with his wife and children. Larry is survived by his three daughters, Diane (Ed) Fuehrer of Roper, NC, Debra Hutchins (Ron) of Digby, NS and Dale (Jim) Refuse of Granville, NS; six grandchildren; and his sister Ethel (Jim) Holland of Florida. Cecilia Pardo, 73, of Port Washington, died on Jan. 10, 2002. Wife of Alfonso. Mother and mother-in-law of Camilo and Connie Pardo, Tina Pardo, Margarita and John Chickering, Felipe and Maria Fernanda Pardo, Ernesto Pardo, Beatriz and Brian Sarant. Grandmother of Samuel, Jennifer, Monica, Elizabeth, Andrea, Andrew, Zachary, Natalia, Thomas, Elena and Maria Colina. Sister of Roberto Arias. Aunt of several nieces and nephews. Wanzor, 79, formerly of Port Washington, died on Jan. 13, 2002 at Eastern LI Hospital, Greenport. He was born in Port Washington on June 21, 1922 to Aubrey Wanzor and Helen Baker. He was a WWII Army Air Force veteran serving as crew chief on B17 and B25 bomber aircraft. He was a self-employed wood worker/cabinet maker in Port Washington. He was an active member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), recently completed aircraft and a builder of several boats. Husband of Janeth Stewart Wanzor for 52 years. Father of Scott of Duluth, GA, Kim Urbach of New Fairfield, CT, and Jill Blum of Peconic. Grandfather of four. Arrangements were made by the William F. Coster Funeral Home, Cutchogue.
