Thomas Richard Chodkowski, of West Palm Beach, FL, died on Oct. 30, 2001. Husband of Grace. Father of Suzanne and Thomas Jr. Grandfather of Justin, Devon and Tiffany. Brother of Henry Chodkowski and Elizabeth McCabe. Uncle of Susan Gaglione, Michael and Gregg Chodkowski, Rick and Laura-Ann McCabe. Cousin of Genevieve Czeniawski, Helen Lemcke, Robert Click, Albert Rava, Katherine Kozikowski and Beverly Waterson, the late Joseph Chodkowski along with many other cousins. Interment services were held in West Palm Beach. Alfred P. Kay, of Port Washington, died on Nov. 5, 2001. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; his children Victoria, Rai Singh and Teresa; and six grandchildren. Alfred was a resident of Port Washington for over 50 years and was active in church and community organizations while his children were growing up. He was a veteran of WWII. Alfred owned his own graphic design studio in Manhattan. Despite his long illness, Alfred maintained his sense of humor and love for people, especially children. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Peter of Alcantara Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Eastern Paralyzed Veterans, 7 Mill Brook Rd., Wilton, NH 03086-0928.

Robert George Hodson, 77, of Basin Harbor, VT, and Delray Beach, FL, died at his home in Basin Harbor surrounded by his family on Nov. 11, 2001. He was born in Brooklyn on Oct. 8, 1924, the son of the late George L. and Olga (Knudsen) Hodson. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Preparatory School. Bob served as an officer with the US Navy aboard the USS Niblack in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, MA, and Georgetown University Law School in Washington, DC. On July 23, 1949 he was married to Anna Marie "Patricia" Dwyer at St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington. She predeceased him in 1997.

Bob was former chairman and CEO of G.L. Hodson and Son, Inc., predecessor to Willis Re, Inc., an international reinsurance intermediary, former chairman of the board of trustees for the School of the Holy Child Jesus in Westbury and former member of the board of trustees of St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT, where in 1980 he was awarded an honorary degree as Doctor of Laws in recognition for his service to the college.

He is survived by his four sons and their spouses, Robert P. and Patricia O. Hodson of Port Washington, Thomas F.X. and Marybeth S. Hodson of West Hartford, CT, William J. and Karen F. Hodson of Burlington, NC, and Timothy J. and Amanda E. Hodson of Vergennes, VT; two daughters, Mary Patricia Strobel of Eliot, ME, and Catherine H. and William S. Bristow Jr. of New Castle, NH; 14 grandchildren, Shawn, Megan, Michael, Ryan, Kelly, Carlie, Nicholas, Caitlin, Christina, Molly, Claire, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Anna; and his sister Clare H. Miller of Seabrook Island, SC.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 14 in the Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel on the campus of St. Michael's College in Colchester, VT. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Contributions can be made in memory of Robert G. Hodson to Addison Home Health and Hospice, PO Box 754, Middlebury, VT 05153. Arrangements were made by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, Burlington, VT.
