Dr. Inserra Tenders Resignation
At the Nov. 12 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Al Inserra officially announced that he will be retiring from the school system at the end of the school year in June. He has served for seven, somewhat tumultuous, years. His announcement ends months of speculation about Dr. Inserra's career plans from various quarters of the community.

PYA Manhasset PAL Junior Football
In the last games of the PYA Manhasset PAL Junior Football League season, the Colts in Royal Blue, sponsored by Manhasset Community Chest, remained undefeated and won the championship of the league by defeating the Broncos in Navy Blue, sponsored by Frank's Pizza by the close score of 13-12. The Colts scored two touchdowns in the first period on a 12-yard run by George Racanelli who also scored the extra point, and a nine-yard run by Tommy Jester. The second extra point was stopped. The Broncos came back in the third period on a 37-yard run by Matt Quirk and in the fourth period on a 13-yard run by Ricky Buhr. The point after touchdown was stopped after both touchdowns. For the Champion Colts, Tony Froccaro guided the team from his quarterback position and Jack Meyer, Brendan Denihan, Frank Miscioscia, Cody White and Noah Todaro played well. For the Broncos, Bob Ferris, MacGalvin, Kyle Smith, Ty Adams, John Vigilis and Joseph Sullivan were all over the field.
On The Bay
Last Sunday, Nov. 18, was a spectacular day for frostbiting. The sun was high in the sky with few clouds, the trees outlining the Port Washington shore still provided a lovely mix of fall colors, and the bay, with most of the boats hauled for the winter, took on her winter personality.
