Harold Keller, a resident of Port Washington since 1957, passed away on May 11, 2001, after a short illness. He was 86 years old. Mr. Keller is survived by his wife of 52 years, June; two sons, Bill and Ed; his daughters-in-law, Karen and Lynn; his sister, Charlotte; and four grandchildren, Isabel, Emma, Sean and Meredith.
A 1935 graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Harold was a CPA for over 50 years. He was a former treasurer of the Community Chest of Port Washington, and in the '60s and '70s, was active in public education issues. He was a member of the Community Synagogue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Community Chest of Port Washington.
Dorothy Wheeler Tylinski, of Port Washington, born to Harold and Ruth Wheeler on Oct. 24, 1927, died on May 11, 2001. She grew up in Great Neck. Dorothy was the mother of Yvonne, Gregory, Douglas and George. She is also survived by her sister, Caroline Sawyer of Santa Barbara, CA, and Edward Tylinski, her former husband of 29 years. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Friends are welcome to a memorial service at 3 p.m. on June 9 at the Congregational Church of Manhasset, 1845 Northern Blvd., followed by an informal reception.
Virginia LeVeen, 85, of Port Washington, died on May 13, 2001. She was a longtime member of the Plandome Country Club, former resident of Tom's Point and loved the water. She was the wife of the late William. Mother of the late Jerry. She is survived by her children, Judy White, Janice Wright and Jeffrey LeVeen; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Service at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
