Three Vie for Two School Board Positions
For the first time in recent memory, the school board elections are quiet. With only two issues of the paper left before the election, not one letter in support or opposition to a candidate has been written to the paper. Nor are advertisements flooding it. With two positions opened, those of Alan Baer and Dean Nardone who chose not to seek re-election after serving one, three-year term, only three candidates threw their hats into the ring.

Boys Lacrosse Wins Two in a Row
The boys varsity lacrosse team celebrated Port Washington's Annual Lacrosse Day festivities with a 10-6 victory over Southside. It was their second victory in a row as the team looked sharp on both ends of the field.

On the Bay
After two weekends of great weather, it is safe to say that spring has arrived on Manhasset Bay. Just as spring brings nature's new beginnings, so too, the waterfront has new beginnings of its own. We have a new Bay Constable, Mallory Nathan; new boats will be joining fleets around our bay; young sailors will soon begin to learn to sail in Optimists; and non-sailors who have never stepped into a boat may just choose this season to try out this terrific sport. If they do, they will be smitten, for there is absolutely nothing better than enjoying a cool summer breeze on a boat with family and friends out on Long Island Sound.
