Alice Ayer Bolway, a long time resident of Port Washington and Sands Point, died in Chapel Hill, NC, on Jan. 30, 2001. Mrs. Bolway lived in Port Washington from 1948 to August of 1996. She was born in Syracuse on Jan. 23, 1916, the daughter of Edith Liecty Ayer and Dr. Wardner D. Ayer. Her husband Frank E. Bolway Jr. predeceased her in Dec. of 1996. Mr. and Mrs. Bolway had been married for 55 years. Alice Bolway is survived by her three children, Bonnie Nuzum of Brooklyn, Robin Stromgren of Bennington, VT, and Sandy Bolway of Andover, MA; and her brother, John Ayer of Skaneateles, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Kimberly Nuzum, Courtney Jimenez, Daniel Stromgren, Matthew Stromgren, Peter Bolway, Leah Nuzum, Robert Bolway and Jonathan Nuzum.

Mrs. Bolway was a 1938 graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA. She remained active in the alumni association attending her 60th college reunion in May of 1998. Alice Bolway was an active community member during her years in Port Washington. She was president of the PW Girl Scouts. She was actively involved in the Junior League of the North Shore and was instrumental in starting the Family Service League of NC. She was a member of the garden club as well as the alumni organization of Mount Holyoke College.

A memorial service for Alice Bolway will be held at St. Stephen's Church in Port Washington on March 31 at 1 p.m. with a reception following at the Village Club of Sands Point, Fair Ln., Sands Point. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Family Service League in her name or the charity of your choice.

Susan Anne Kelly, of Port Washington, died on March 4, 2001. Mother of Edward Kelly Jr. and the late Butchie Kelly. Cremation Nassau Knolls Cemetery. Contributions can be made, in Susan Kelly's memory, to St. Peter of Alcantara Outreach Program, Port Blvd., Port Washington, NY 11050. Anna Intintoli, 78, of Port Washington, died on March 4, 2001. She was predeceased by her husband Alfonso. She is survived by her children Josephine Silverman (Steve), Carmine Intintoli (Luz), Anne Friedman (Norman), Lina Gottesman (Robert) and Roseanne Dyson (Russell); nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Anna was the sister-in-law of Palma Petito, Florence Toth, Elvira D'Amelio, Joseph and Ralph Intintoli. Arrangements were made by the Austin F. Knowles Funeral Home, Port Washington. Mass at St. Peter of Alcantara RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Logo
