This spring soccer season has been delayed a week due to the inclement weather (the fields were too soggy to play on this weekend). However, all of the Port Washington Soccer Club's travel teams will be in action this coming Saturday and Sunday.
Intramural soccer will kick off its spring season Saturday, March 24 and will run through June 9. All children, grades pre-K through 6, are welcome. Children must be registered either in person between 9 a.m. and noon on the 17th at Sousa Elementary School or by mail to Port Washington Soccer Club, P.O. Box 2067, PW, 11050. The cost is $95 and includes a reversible jersey for new players. Scholarships are available.
The intramural program for grades 1-6 includes one game each weekend and one or two practice sessions by Noga trainers where skills, rules, and teamwork techniques are taught. Parent coaches are needed, especially for coordinating the weekend games. Training is also available for interested parents through the Long Island Junior Soccer League.
The program for pre-K and kindergarten children meets only on Sundays and includes a variety of age-appropriate games and drills run by skilled Noga trainers. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children.
For more information, see the flyer that was handed out in the schools, come ask in person at registration, or visit the PWSC web site at www.pwsoccer.com. See you at the fields.
