I think that it is important to get on record that not all Port residents are opposed to the senior housing development in the area some of us refer to as the sand banks. I decided not to renew my membership in RFMBPW because of their continued opposition to this project. I have lived in Port for 55 years. Many things have changed in that time and most of the changes are for the better. The Harbor Ridge/Marriott project is being developed by responsible and reputable people and I welcome it. We must face the reality that our population is aging and that planned facilities specifically designed to deal with the problems of the aging will become an important part of our future environment. To those anti-development diehards who continue to make noise about this project, which has been approved by the town, I say: "Get over it!"
