On The Bay
Greg Danilek and Mike McAllister participated in the First Annual Odom Millennium Regatta, sponsored by the Mill Pond Model YC on Saturday, Nov. 4. The Odom is a one design, one-meter long model yacht with 600 sq. inches of sail area. Approximately 25-30 members of the Mill Pond Model YC have Odoms. The idea for this regatta was developed in the fall of 1999, when David Raw and Michael Mazzioto, both from Copaigue Harbor and club members, donated the award to the Mill Pond Model YC. The cup is modern in design, with a polished brass bowl resting on a walnut base. The top three winners will have their name permanently recorded on brass plaques attached to the cup's base. In addition, each winner will receive a cap with the name of the regatta and their finish position.
