Local Shop Named as Site for Greatest Bluefish Tournament - SUBHEAD

R & G Bait and Tackle in Port Washington has been named as an official registration and weigh-in station for the WICC-Miller Greatest Bluefish Tournament on earth. The tournament takes place on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26-27 on the Long Island Sound.

Tournament Director Jill Dotlo explains the responsibility that comes with being named an official registration and weigh-in station: "There's a lot of money at stake in this tournament, and that always creates temptation. So it's important that the weigh stations know the signs of a legitimate winning fish. Plus, thousands of fishermen sign up from Connecticut, New York, Long Island and other states in the country as far away as Chicago and Las Vegas. These official tournament bait and tackle shops (registration and weigh-in stations) have the most interaction with Bluefish participants, and so they are representatives of the WICC Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth. It's exciting, but a big job."
