(Ed.'s note: The following letter was sent to the Village of Baxter Estates and reprinted here at the writer's request.)

It is with great sadness to hear that the Village of Baxter Estates will be loosing its greatest asset and activist Renee Greenspan. Her decision not to run for re-election is a tremendous loss to the village and all its' residents. There is no one who will be able to fill that void. Renee has spent many countless hours to assure us all, that this small village remain one of the priceless jewels of Port Washington. The rolling hills, the quiet tree lined streets, which now have been repaved thanks to the tremendous effort by Renee, are a favorite for many to stroll on any given day. There is no one who knows and loves this village more than she. We should all be thankful for her dedication and fortitude in accomplishing all the wonderful things for this village and its resident, past, present and future. We owe her tremendous thanks. This village will never be the same.
