Muriel Emma Alperin, 83, of Port Washington, died on March 6, 2000. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the daughter of the late Ebenezer and Amy Alexander. She served in the Royal Air Force as a sergeant during WWII. She lived in Greenville, SC, before moving to Port Washington. Muriel worked at Publishers Clearing House. She co-founded the Brotherhood of Concern, which provided support network for prison inmates. She was a member of the Shelter Rock Unitarian Church and the Clara Barton Society.
