January 21 the sounds of Go Port and P-O-R-T filled the air as the Lady Vikings faced off with Great Neck South. The difference this night was that the stands were filled not just with high school students and parents but young girls who are playing PYA basketball in Port Washington. Ron Henderson from PYA and Stephanie Joannon, Varsity Basketball Coach, began this activity seven years ago as a way to encourage students to participate. A raffle is done at half-time with prizes donated by Arena Graphics, PYA and Ms. Joannon.

It was a great night made even better by the performances of Step Club coached by Terry Hall and the Pep Band led by Mat Gewolb. The night ended on a winning note with the Lady Vikings defeating GNS 58-47. The evening culminated with a photo session and autograph signing and everyone involved looking forward to a repeat performance next year. We thank everyone in the school and community who helped make this night a success.
