The Girls Varsity Basketball team recently capped an undefeated week of basketball as they captured the 10th annual Lady Vikings Tip-Off tournament by defeating Levittown Division in the final game by a score of 40-34.

The team started off the week by defeating Cold Spring Harbor, 48-39. Point guard Sarah Walsh led all scorers with 27 points and added 7 steals and 5 assists. Erin Cohen kept Cold Spring off the board with 14 rebounds.

In the first game of the Lady Vikings tournament, Port defeated Carle Place with a great team effort, 63-24. Outstanding performances by forwards Chantelle McCurty and freshman Lisa Vogeley as they combined for 25 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Walsh came up big again with 25 points. Nine players scored for Port.

In the championship game against Division the game was a match-up of defensive pressure. Port's 14-9 first quarter was the cushion the team needed as the game was tight throughout. Port took care of the basketball in the final minutes to preserve the win. Sarah Walsh was named tournament MVP and Lisa Vogeley was named to the all-tournament team.

The team tries to keep their record perfect as they travel to the Manhasset Tournament this weekend.
