Each week the controversy over Beacon Hill Road continues, one way or two; take a side. The safety of our children, other pedestrians and our motorists is at the core of this debate. It seems to me that Beacon Hill Road could be a safer route right now if only the residents of this street would ask their landscapers, trades people and guests to refrain from parking on the street. These trailers and trucks force traffic into the opposite lane and create life threatening blind spots. Can't they pull into the driveways of the homes that they are servicing? That is what they do on Sandy Hollow Road where the road is relatively flat and straight.
Winning the fight seems to have eclipsed the issue of safety. Let's put safety back as our ultimate goal. Those of you who live on Beacon Hill Road have the power to improve the safety of your street right now.
